Key Features of the Retron Plugin:
- The Heart of Tube Sound: The plugin offers adjustable tube saturation (clip), bias, and gain, allowing you to fine-tune the character of the overdrive.
- Unique “Kink” Effect: In addition to standard clipping, Retron features the “kink” option, which mimics the crossover distortion of an underloaded push-pull tube output stage. This effect creates an unusual “dead zone” in the center, where the sound seems to “fade out,” which is a significant difference from regular distortion.
- Comprehensive Filtering: The main filtering is implemented via an 8-stage low-frequency filter. A separate filter with a choice between pass, phat pass, and low pass formats is provided for the delay effect.
- Built-in Effects: Retron is equipped with a phaser, delay with analog filtering, a fuzz module, and a built-in compressor, expanding the palette of available sounds.
- Intuitive Tone Slider: One of the most interesting features is the Tone slider. It controls a range of internal parameters simultaneously, most of which are not available separately. Essentially, this slider adjusts the high and low frequencies, but also affects other sound elements, allowing you to quickly find the desired tonal balance.
- Performance Optimization: Despite its rich functionality, Retron has a custom circuit optimized for low CPU load. This makes it ideal for use in multiple instances within a single project.
- Flexibility of Use: The plugin is suitable for both stereo and mono tracks.

Please note that feeding too loud a signal into Retron’s input can overload the plugin, so make sure the signal level before the plugin is not excessive.
