The intuitive interface allows you to quickly immerse yourself in the sound design process, and the wide range of features provides unlimited scope for creativity.

Key Features of GR-8

The GR-8 is equipped with all the components you need to create professional sound:

Arpeggiator.

  • 5 operating modes: Up, Down, Alt 1, Alt 2, Random.
  • Range up to 4 octaves, allowing you to create complex and dynamic arpeggios.

The Arpeggiator adds rhythmic and melodic complexity to your tracks by transforming simple chords into exciting sequences.

Voice modes

  • Mono: Ideal for bass and lead parts.
  • Unison (8 voices): For extremely dense and wide sounds.
  • Chord (4 stereo notes): Lets you play chords with stereo expansion.
  • Poly (8 voices): For polyphonic playing of pads, strings, and other multi-tone instruments.

With a variety of voice modes, the GR-8 can be adapted to any musical task.

Oscillators and Modulation

  • OSC 1: offers Tri, Saw, Pulse, Square waveforms – the classic basics of analog synthesis.
  • OSC 2: adds Sine, Saw, Pulse, Noise to expand the sound palette.
  • Oscillator effects: Cross Modulation (FM) for creating metallic and complex tones, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for dynamic tone movement, Oscillator Synchronization for creating aggressive and punchy sounds.
  • Modulation: Support for Pitch Bender, Mod Wheel, LFO, and two envelopes (Envelope) allows you to deeply control the dynamics, pitch, and timbre of your sound, adding vibrancy and expression.

The combination of a variety of oscillators and powerful modulation capabilities makes the GR-8 an extremely flexible sound design tool.

Filters

  • Non-resonant High Pass filter for cutting low frequencies.
  • Resonant Low Pass filter with a cutoff of 12, 18, or 24 dB/octave.

The GR-8 filters allow you to shape the tone of your sound by cutting out unwanted frequencies or emphasizing resonance to create distinctive analog effects.

Built-in Effects

The GR-8 has an integrated effects section that lets you finalize your sound without the need for external plug-ins:

  • EQ: for fine-tuning the frequency balance.
  • Distortion: adds harmonic saturation and drive.
  • Phaser, Chorus/Flanger: for creating moving, volumizing, and modulating effects.
  • Delay, Reverb: add space and depth to your sound.

With a complete set of effects, the GR-8 is a self-contained solution for creating mix-ready sounds.

Presets.

The plugin comes with 88 high-quality presets covering a wide range of sounds, from classic synth tones to modern electronic sounds. These presets are a great starting point for creating your own unique sounds.

Important Warning.

Please note that each preset has its own MIDI settings. If you make changes to the MIDI assignments, be sure to save the preset. Otherwise, your changes will be lost when you switch to another preset. To create your own presets with the same MIDI assignments, assign MIDI controllers to the Initial preset, save a copy of it, and use it as a template for new sounds.
