Foxglove

Foxglove: Monophonic Synthesizer with Unique Waveshaping

Foxglove by Contralogic Productions is a monophonic instrument that offers unique sound shaping capabilities thanks to its powerful waveshaping section. Forget about standard waveforms – Foxglove invites you into a world of experimentation and the creation of truly original timbres.

Innovative Waveshaping

At the heart of Foxglove is its innovative waveshaping section. It allows you to radically alter the basic waveform, transforming it into something completely new. Using three sliders, which act as control points on a simple conversion function, you can precisely ‘sculpt’ the output signal. The central slider (III) plays a special role, responsible for the signal’s intersection point with zero. This opens up endless possibilities for creating complex harmonics and non-linear distortions.

Independent Stereo and Modulation

But that’s not all. Foxglove generates the left and right channels completely independently of each other! This feature is a real find for creating wide, voluminous, and interesting stereo effects that change dynamically over time. You can create amazing panoramic movements or asymmetrical textures. Internal envelope generators and low-frequency oscillators are available to enliven the sound. They can modulate various parameters, including the waveshaping section. In addition, all Foxglove parameters can be automated through your VST host, providing complete control over the dynamics and evolution of the sound.

Key Features

  • Monophonic architecture
  • Powerful waveshaping with 3 control points
  • Independent generation of left/right channels for stereo
  • Built-in EG and LFO for modulation
  • Full VST automation
  • Output filter

The signal passes through a filter at the output, which helps reduce unwanted artifacts and DC offset issues, ensuring a clean sound. Foxglove is ideal for creating fat basslines, penetrating leads, strange effects, and unusual textures. If you’re looking for a monophonic synthesizer with character for sound experiments, Foxglove is worth a look.
