The Heart of Sound: Oscillators and Noise
DEISK-O is equipped with a single oscillator that can generate two classic waveforms: Saw (Ramp) and Pulse. In addition, there’s an external input (Ext In), expanding the synthesizer’s sonic possibilities. A wide range of pitch settings is available: Sub, 64′, 32′, 16′, 8′, and 4′, allowing you to create both ultra-low sub-basses and ringing high sounds. A white noise generator is available for adding character and texture, and its level can be precisely controlled.
Shaping and Modulation: Filter, Envelopes and LFO
A key element in DEISK-O’s sound generation is its filter, which replicates the behavior of analog circuits. You can control the cutoff frequency (Cutoff) and resonance (Resonance) to give the sound the desired shape and emphasis. The KBE (Keyboard Enhance) function adds dynamics by responding to the pitch of the played note. The filter can be modulated by an envelope generator (EG) or an LFO.
The synthesizer has a full ADSR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) envelope generator, which can be applied to both the filter and the amplitude (via the VCA Hold/EG switch), allowing you to create a variety of dynamic profiles – from sharp percussive sounds to smooth pads.
The Low-Frequency Oscillator (LFO) offers several waveforms: Sample and Hold (S/H), Triangle, and Pulse. A unique feature is the ability to mix the selected waveform with a sine wave (LFO Waveform mix control), allowing you to create more complex modulation patterns. The LFO can modulate pitch (LFO level pitch), pulse width (PW/PWM Level), and the filter (via modulation delay).
Additional Features
DEISK-O includes Pitch Bend sensitivity control, fine-tuning +/- 1 note (Tune control), and external input level control. Pulse width modulation (PW/PWM) can be controlled manually, by an envelope generator, or by the LFO.
