Discover the world of unique sound synthesis with SyncSawSynth – a virtual instrument from developer Uhhyou. This plugin is designed for musicians seeking fresh sounds and in-depth sound design capabilities, focusing on the power and flexibility of the sawtooth wave.
The Heart of SyncSawSynth: Oscillators and Synchronization
At the core of SyncSawSynth lies its main feature – the use of sawtooth PTR (Polynomial Transition Regions) oscillators up to the 10th order. PTR technology effectively suppresses aliasing, ensuring a clean sound.
Key Features of Oscillators:
- Two oscillators supporting sawtooth PTR waves up to the 10th order.
- The ability to use a sine wave (sine synchronization does not suppress aliasing).
- Three types of hard sync, including the “Ratio” option for tonal sounds.
- Precise phase control, allowing the creation of a square wave, among other things.
Modulation Capabilities and Filter
SyncSawSynth offers rich modulation capabilities. Frequency modulation (FM) is available between the two oscillators to create complex or noisy textures.
Modulation Tools:
- AD envelope and sine LFO for frequency modulation.
- Pink noise generator as a modulation source for FM.
- The AD envelope uses a unique formula (t^a * exp(-b * t)).
Filter Section:
The plugin is equipped with a powerful filter – a serial connection of four RBJ biquad filters with feedback.
- Support for filter types: Low-pass, High-pass, Band-pass, Notch.
- Four types of filter feedback saturation.
- Linear ADSR envelope for cutoff frequency and resonance modulation. The envelope output is logarithmically mapped to the cutoff frequency.
- Key Follow function.
An exponential ADSR envelope, saturated with a tanh function, is used to control the overall volume.
SyncSawSynth by Uhhyou is a tool for deep immersion in the world of sawtooth synthesis thanks to PTR technology, a flexible modulation system, and a multifunctional filter. It is ideal for creating basses, leads, pads, and experimental sounds.
Note: The Linux build may not display the GUI due to issues with VSTGUI.
The plugin is available in VST format for Windows (32/64-bit) and Linux.
