SmallQoo

SmallQoo by g200kg is not just a plugin; it’s your quick start into the world of compact yet highly functional sound synthesis. Designed specifically for the Windows platform as a VSTi instrument, SmallQoo impresses with its ease of use combined with enough depth to create a wide range of timbres. With 8 voices of polyphony, it is ideal for writing chord parts, creating rich backgrounds, or using it as the main instrument for melodies and basslines. g200kg has created a tool that easily integrates into your workflow, offering instant access to classic and modern synthesizer sounds.

Powerful sound in a compact format

This compact synthesizer has all the key modules needed for full-fledged synthesis: from wave generation to final effects processing. Each section of the instrument is designed for maximum convenience and efficiency, allowing you to quickly go from an idea to a finished sound.

Oscillator section

The heart of SmallQoo is one high-quality oscillator with anti-aliasing and flexible pulse width modulation (PWM). You can choose from several standard waveforms, as well as adjust the pitch.

  • Form: Waveform selection (Random, Sine, Triangle, Square, Saw).
  • Tune: Fine-tuning of pitch (from -24 to +24 semitones).
  • PulseWidth: Pulse width adjustment, effective for all waveforms except Random.

Filter section

The plugin has one filter that can operate in high, band, and low-pass modes. This allows you to shape the timbre by cutting off or amplifying certain frequency ranges.

  • Freq: Cutoff frequency.
  • Q: Filter resonance.
  • Type: Filter type selection (Low Pass, Band Pass, High Pass).

ADSR Envelope

The classic ADSR envelope (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) allows you to control the sound dynamics, from attack to decay. It is also possible to modulate the pitch of the oscillator and the filter frequency using this envelope.

  • A: Attack time.
  • D: Decay time.
  • S: Sustain level.
  • R: Release time.
  • MOD:Tune: Oscillator pitch modulation.
  • MOD:Filter: Filter frequency modulation.

Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO)

The tempo-synced LFO adds movement and modulation to the sound. It has its own AD envelope and can modulate various parameters.

  • Form: LFO waveform (Random, Sine, Triangle, Square, Ramp, Saw).
  • Freq: LFO frequency. When Sync is activated, the LFO is synchronized with the project tempo.
  • Sync: Switching between free running and synchronization with the tempo.
  • LFOENV:A: LFO envelope attack time.
  • LFOENV:D: LFO envelope decay time.
  • MOD:Tune: Oscillator pitch modulation using LFO.
  • MOD:PWM: Oscillator pulse width modulation using LFO.
  • MOD:Filter: Filter frequency modulation using LFO.
  • MOD:Amp: Volume modulation using LFO.

Effects section

To add space and texture to the sound, SmallQoo offers basic but effective delay and chorus effects.

  • DELAY:Time: Delay time, synchronized with the tempo.
  • DELAY:Lev: Delay effect level.
  • Chorus: Chorus effect depth.

Other parameters

In addition to the main modules, glide, overall volume, and pan settings are also available.

  • Glide: Portamento time.
  • Vol: Overall volume.
  • Pan: Overall pan.
