Unique Features for Maximum Authenticity
Unlike many modern samplers, Redtron SE adheres to the principle of the original Mellotron: each note sounds for exactly eight seconds and does not loop. This means you get the same characteristic “bad endings” that are an integral part of the vintage sound.
Exclusive Mellotronic Click Switch (MCS)
One of the most interesting and unique features of Redtron SE is the Mellotronic Click Switch. On real Mellotrons, clicks could be heard at the beginning of a note when the tape touched the playback head. In Redtron SE, these clicks are generated randomly when a key is pressed – you will never hear the same click twice, and they can appear on any note. A special control allows you to control the intensity of this effect (or turn it off completely). Please note: this function is inactive if the “Attack” parameter has a value other than zero.
Flexible Control and Sound Design Capabilities
Redtron SE offers not only sample playback, but also modern creative possibilities:
- Layering: Combine two timbres (A and B) simultaneously to create new, rich sounds.
- Keyboard Split: Assign different timbres to different keyboard ranges (with octave shift possible).
