MYSTERION: Secrets of Analog Sound in Your DAW

Welcome to the world of MYSTERION – a virtual analog synthesizer by Pianovintage, promising to immerse you in the depths of classic synthesis while offering modern convenience and ease of use. Forget complex settings and confusing menus. MYSTERION is designed for creativity and quick sound inspiration.

Designed with an emphasis on intuitiveness, this plugin will be a great addition for both experienced sound designers and musicians who are just starting their journey in the world of synthesis. Despite its simplicity, MYSTERION has powerful sound potential, able to reproduce warm pads, punchy basses, sharp leads, and atmospheric textures characteristic of vintage analog instruments.

Each element of the MYSTERION interface is designed for the fastest possible access to the main sound-shaping parameters. This allows you to focus on the music, not on the technical details. Whether you’re creating electronic music, ambient, lo-fi, or adding synthesizer textures to rock compositions, MYSTERION is ready to give your tracks a special analog charm.

Main Features and Characteristics

MYSTERION is equipped with all the key components needed for full-fledged subtractive synthesis, allowing you to create a wide range of sounds: from simple sine waves to complex, modulated timbres.

  • Two Oscillators: The heart of the MYSTERION synthesizer consists of two powerful oscillators. Each has independent pitch (Pitch) and fine-tuning (Tuning) settings. This opens up possibilities for creating dense, rich sounds, expanding the stereo base, or obtaining interesting detuning effects, which are a hallmark of analog sound.
  • Filter Section: A classic filter with controlled cutoff frequency (Cutoff) and resonance (Resonance) parameters allows you to shape the sound timbre, cutting off unnecessary harmonics or, conversely, emphasizing certain frequencies to obtain “wow” or “singing” resonance effects. This is a key tool for adding dynamics and expressiveness to your patches.
  • Low-Frequency Oscillator (LFO): The LFO in MYSTERION is an important tool for adding movement and modulation to the sound. Use it to modulate the filter, the pitch of the oscillators, or other parameters to create vibrato, tremolo, pulsating pads, or rhythmic textures.
  • Envelopes: MYSTERION offers separate envelopes for the filter (Filter Envelope) and gain (AMP Envelope). The gain envelope (ADSR: Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) controls how the sound volume changes over time after a key is pressed. The filter envelope (ADSR) does the same for the filter cutoff frequency, allowing you to create percussive sounds, “smooth” filter opening effects, and much more. The combination of both envelopes gives huge opportunities for dynamic sound shaping.
  • Delay FX: The built-in delay effect adds space and depth to your patches. It can be a slight echo to create a sense of presence or long, scattered repetitions to form atmospheric pads and ambient textures. The presence of this effect directly in the plugin simplifies the workflow.
  • 16 Original Presets: For quick start and inspiration, MYSTERION comes with 16 original presets. These ready-to-use sounds demonstrate some of the synthesizer’s capabilities and can serve as an excellent starting point for your own sound experiments. Browse them to get an idea of what MYSTERION can do, and change them to your liking.
