Gigmate

Gigmate: Reviving the Analog Character

Gigmate by Manx Synthesizers is a detailed emulation of the vintage 1981 Concertmate MG-1 synthesizer. This plugin brings not only the warm analog sound of the original but also all its unique, sometimes “quirky,” features into the digital format. Gigmate offers musicians and sound designers access to a multifaceted timbral potential, ideal for creating both classic vintage sounds and modern, experimental textures.

Combining Mono and Polyphony

A key feature of Gigmate is its unusual architecture with parallel monophonic and polyphonic modes. The monophonic part is perfect for basses and leads, while the polyphonic string section adds richness. The approach to polyphony is truly unique: each key activates up to three oscillators. This configuration allows creating incredibly dense, dynamic, and original timbres that go beyond the typical polysynths. Layer waveforms, creating unique pads, effects, and textures.

Authentic Sound and Capabilities

Thanks to a complex audio algorithm, Gigmate imitates the behavior of analog circuits, providing an authentic, live sound with characteristic analog warmth and “fatness.” The plugin accurately reproduces the original “quirks” of the Concertmate MG-1. The interface is user-friendly and intuitive, visually resembling the original.

Key Features of Gigmate:

  • Precise emulation of the vintage Concertmate MG-1.
  • Unique mono/polyphonic modes with 3 oscillators per key.
  • Reproduction of the original “quirky” functions.
  • Authentic analog sound thanks to an advanced algorithm.
  • Full MIDI Learn support for all parameters.
  • Patch memory system with a library.
  • Sample & Hold and Ring Modulation functions.
  • Oscillator Synchronization (Osc Sync).
  • Audio-rate LFO.

Gigmate is available in VST format for Windows (32-bit). It’s a powerful tool for those who appreciate the vintage analog character but need the flexibility and convenience of modern plugins. Add Gigmate to your arsenal for creating deep basses, atmospheric pads, and experimental soundscapes.
