ABVSTI – Unique Virtual Synthesizer from Audiobulb

Immerse yourself in a world of unusual sounds with ABVSTI – a virtual synthesizer developed by electronic artist and programmer x|k for Audiobulb. This plugin is designed to bring special “audiobulb” acoustic elements into your studio environment, offering a fresh perspective on sound generation.

ABVSTI is not just another synthesizer in your collection. It’s designed with a unique character that is felt immediately. Its main goal is to create unique soundscapes and textures that go beyond standard synthesizer sounds.

Controls and Features

One of the key features of ABVSTI is its deep integration with MIDI. The plugin fully supports parameter control and preset changes via MIDI controllers. This opens up wide possibilities for automation and experimentation when creating music.

Unique Parameters

ABVSTI has a set of ten original parameters, each of which affects the sound in its own way, and some interact with each other, creating unpredictable and interesting results. Here is a more detailed description of these controls:

  • Bttack (CC 73 – attack): Affects the attack modulation in the ASDR envelope, and is also associated with portamento. Experiment with this parameter to get various “acid” or “room” effects.
  • Eecay (CC 75 – decay): This control is related to the Decay, Sustain and Release parameters of the envelope. It also affects a peculiar added VCF (filter) function, forming the character of sound decay.
  • Filter (CC 74 – filter): Implements a basic low-frequency filter (lowpass). Resonance is related to another parameter, but if you need a more powerful signal, just increase the volume.
  • Volume (CC 07 – volume): The only way to reduce the overall noise level, but its level also affects the behavior of the Disastrato, Room, Prhizzm, Something, and Legs parameters.
  • Something (CC 13 – fx control 2): Adds something barely noticeable to the sound, associated with a delay mechanism. Its impact can be subtle, but important for the overall texture.
  • Legs (CC 70 – sustain): Adjusts the delay feedback time. However, this parameter is also modified by the Disastrato values, and, probably, also by Room or Prhizzm, creating complex echo effects.
  • Disastrato (CC 71 – resonance): Controls the oscillator/LFO, which can generate impressive sounds when changing the “Disaster ratio”. This is one of the key parameters for creating experimental timbres.
  • Room (CC 72 – release): Adds FM-synthesis elements. The Disastrato, Room and Prhizzm parameters are closely interconnected and affect each other, forming a unique “room” sound.
  • Prhizzm (CC 01 – mod wheel): Increasing the Prhizzm value results in the appearance of wave-like tones. Decreasing it leads to almost melodic loops. The sustain from the played notes can merge, creating an additional musical basis for these loops.
  • Emma (CC 12 – fx control 1): A combined “ring modulator” type function that is located after the filter and delay stages. Emma allows you to get pleasant “ringing” drones, but its operation directly depends on the cumulative effect of the Disastrato + Room + Prhizzm parameters.
