Track24 is a plugin that recreates the magical character of analog magnetic tape, giving your tracks the desired timbre and saturation, but discarding unwanted artifacts like wow, flutter, and hiss. It focuses exclusively on the signature tape sound.
Saturation and Harmonics
The central element of Track24 is the tape saturation section. It adds a rich spectrum of harmonics to the signal. The “Texture” control allows you to adjust the balance between even (warmth) and odd (density) harmonics, creating saturation from light coloring to energetic overload.
Modeling of Tape Machine Timbre
The “Tone” section emulates the frequency response of classic tape recorders. Choose from four carefully selected filter presets, each inspired by real machines at different speeds (ips). The “Neutral” preset leaves the frequency response flat. These presets allow you to give your sound the character of a specific era.
Additional Tools
- 4x Oversample: Reduces digital aliasing with strong saturation, providing a cleaner sound. Adds a small delay.
- Built-in Filters (High-Pass and Low-Pass): Located *before* saturation. Allow you to shape the signal before processing, controlling which frequencies are saturated the most.
- Dry/Wet Control: Mix the processed signal with the original for parallel processing or precise dosage of the effect.
