MASBAX – Transparent and Versatile 3-Band Equalizer by Analog Obsession

A deep dive into the world of sound correction with MASBAX by Analog Obsession. This plugin is not just another equalizer, but a powerful tool for precise and musical shaping of your sound. Designed with an emphasis on transparency and smoothness, MASBAX will become an indispensable assistant for both fine final corrections and for more significant changes. It is ideal for processing individual instruments, groups, or even the entire mix, offering flexibility through various processing modes.

MASBAX Features

Transparent and Smooth Equalization

The key feature of MASBAX is its ability to correct the frequency balance with extreme transparency, preserving the naturalness and dynamics of the original signal. The smoothness of processing makes it ideal for musical applications where unwanted artifacts can spoil the overall impression. This equalizer works delicately, allowing you to achieve the desired result without aggressive intervention.

Advanced Functionality and Processing Modes

MASBAX offers three processing modes: Dual-Mono, Stereo, and Mid-Side. This opens up broad possibilities for working with the space and stereo image of your mix.

Use Dual-Mono for independent processing of the left and right channels, Stereo for classic joint correction, or Mid-Side for influencing the central (“Mid”) and side (“Side”) parts of the stereo image. The latter mode is especially useful for expanding or narrowing the stereo base and focusing on central elements.

Flexible Frequency Control

The plugin has 3 correction bands: Low, Mid, and High frequencies. Each band offers a choice of 6 fixed frequencies:

Low frequencies:

  • 20 Hz
  • 30 Hz
  • 40 Hz
  • 60 Hz
  • 85 Hz
  • 120 Hz

Mid frequencies:

  • 200 Hz
  • 400 Hz
  • 800 Hz
  • 2 kHz
  • 4 kHz
  • 7 kHz

High frequencies:

  • 9 kHz
  • 13 kHz
  • 16 kHz
  • 20 kHz
  • 27 kHz
  • 40 kHz

Precise Gain/Attenuation Control

MASBAX allows you to adjust the gain or attenuation (Boost/Cut) level in 0.5 dB increments in the range from +/- 0.5 dB to +/- 6 dB. Such a fine step provides extreme precision in settings.

Features of the Mid-Frequency Band

The mid-frequency band has a unique characteristic: it offers a wide Q for boost and a narrow Q for cut. This allows you to musically “lift” the desired frequencies with a wide band, while simultaneously “cutting” resonances or unwanted frequencies with a narrow band.

MASBAX from Analog Obsession is a refined and functional equalizer that combines transparency of sound with advanced control capabilities. Its multi-mode and precise settings make it a valuable tool for any sound engineer or musician who seeks a high-quality result. Try MASBAX to see its versatility and musicality.
