Main Features of HY-Lofi

Bit Quantizer

- 2 quantization modes are available:
- Mode1: Standard bit quantization mode.
- Mode2: In this mode, quantization errors appear at higher frequencies, adding unique “hissing” artifacts.

- Bit Knob: Controls the bit depth value, allowing you to gradually reduce the sound resolution and add digital “sand”.
Drive Section (Waveshaper)
The Drive module adds harmonic distortion and saturation to the signal. Simulating the operation of tube, transistor, or other types of overload, it is a great way to add warmth, density, or controlled aggression to the sound.
- Drive Knob: Adjusts the intensity of the overload effect. The higher the value, the stronger the saturation or distortion will be, up to the complete destruction of the signal.
- Shaping menu: Offers a choice of 3 different wave shaping modes. Each mode has its own unique sound character. The «–» option allows you to bypass the Drive section if you only need the quantizer and filter.
Filtering Section
The built-in filter allows you to effectively shape the tonal balance of the processed signal. You can use it to remove unwanted frequencies, create presence, distance effects, or simulate the sound through a limited channel.
- HP (Highpass): Controls the cutoff frequency of the high-pass filter. Allows you to remove low frequencies, making the sound thinner or “telephone-like”.
- LP (Lowpass): Controls the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter. Allows you to remove high frequencies, making the sound warmer, muffled, or “vintage”.
